What I Eat In A Day

This is by far my most requested answer on IG so I thought I would share with you here ‘What I Eat In A Day’ .

Each day, I try to stick to my version of 16:8 intermittent fasting.
What got me into this was reading the book Lifespan by DAVID SINCLAIR, where he discusses the various benefits of intermittent fasting and adapting a lifestyle that gives your body the best chance to remain healthy, fit and strong for as many years as possible.

Each day is different as I try to have a diverse diet so that I am not missing out on any key nutrients. I am not vegetarian/vegan however I do typically prefer to stick to eggs and fish as my main sources of protein. Due to my sensitive stomach, I mainly stick to GF, DF and fructose free diet, which is definitely challenging but it is the only way I can avoid stomach pains entirely (mostly low FODMAP diet however some items that are not low FODMAP do not affect my stomach such as avocado, a small amount of onion and garlic etc.)

on the weekend, i typically dine out a lot more/ see friends/go to events etc. so on these occasions, i typically don’t stick to 16:8 and instead just go with the flow of the day/night. I do eat ‘bad’ food too - pizza/burgers/take-away - whatever else, but because of my tummy problems i try and limit these kind of meals as although delicious at the time, i always pay for it later.

I drink around 2 litres of water a day and have tea in the afternoon and after dinner (green tea/peppermint tea/ chai tea/ matcha tea).

8.00AM - coffee
9.30AM - fruit & lemon water

11.00-11.30AM - Breakfast/brunch

For breakfast I usually have toast with toppings, oats with fruit and nuts (my recipe here) or a smoothie

This is spelt sourdough bread (wheat free but not gf) with avocado, baby spinach cucumber and basil, dressed with lime, chilli and paprika

2.00-2.30PM - Late lunch

For lunch I will have either a salad (see my go-to here) , a smoothie or toast with fruit/vegetables

This is a smoothie with raspberries, 3/4 of a banana, hemp protein powder, chia seeds, crushed peanuts and pumpkin seeds. I also added a tablespoon of PB and 1/3 of a cup of almond milk, 1/2 of ice and topped with cinnamon

4.00-4.30PM - Snack

For a snack I typically have some dark chocolate, homemade cookies, corn chips or whatever else I have around the house. I usually have green tea or peppermint tea around this time too. i have such a sweet tooth so this is definitely the time i would usually eat chocolate/hazelnut spread etc.

6.00-6.30PM - Dinner

For dinner I usually have rice and vegetables, salmon with vegetables, gf pasta or a salad with tuna/egg,
It just depends how hungry I am /what I ate over the course of the day already

This is my take on ‘healthy fried rice’ - corn, red cabbage, baby spinach, pumpkin, celery, frozen peas,
red capsicum and brown rice cooked together with a fried egg, soy sauce and chilli sauce. garnished with cucumber and sesame seeds

7.00-8.00PM - Peppermint tea

7.00-8.00PM - Peppermint tea

Typically always end the day with peppermint tea as I think it helps with digestion of food

Anyways! I hope this was helpful and answers all your questions about what i eat in a day :)
